Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord…

Good day to you and welcome again to the Agape Divine. I believe your day has not been too bad not to merit thanks to the Almighty, or too good to deserve your praise. I am optimistic of even better and blessed days ahead.
As usual, I was doing some research work on my PC when a verse was laid on my heart. Immediately I decided to put aside what I was doing and to share it with you. It is that same old verse I know you are already familiar with. It was part of some sermons that Jesus gave on a mountain to a multitude of people who had gathered to listen to Him. (Mt 5:1)
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” (Mt 7:21)
The very first question that came into my mind with this scripture was, “what was the WILL of the Father?” To answer this question, we do not need to go very far to have at least an idea. The whole of Matthew chapters 5 and 6 tries to outline the attitudes and attributes of a child of God.
Jesus touched on the dos and don’ts; He touched on those helpful hints and tips to accomplish our faiths. For examples He said;
Mt 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (The tip)
Mt 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter the kingdom of heaven.(The Hint)
Mt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.(The Do’s)
Mt 5:34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne ?(The Don’t)
I do not know what you are doing now or is planning to do- or are giving time to ask if it is the Will of God. What I know is that, whatever step or action both of us take as Children of God, it is going to glorify the Father.
It is not our singing and clapping, or our shouts and proclamations. It is our hearts and what we choose to allow in and out of it. It is what we choose to do with our talents and time. How we want our host of witnesses to identify us.
As Christians, we need to bear in mind that we are on 24hr duty call to let our light to shine before all men. This way our father in Heaven is also gloried. It is our sole duty to keep our hearts and actions in check, and to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us every step of the way through. If only we know what our call means to us, what it means to be called the Children of God, and then we would begin to reflect more positively on these verses.
It takes not only self Will, but prayer and Bible study. Please allow me to share this prayer with you now.
“Our dear Lord and Father, we thank You for your divine word and its changing power within our hearts. We sincerely ask for your understanding and wisdom to better understand the truth in your Word. We also invite into our lives this day the Holy Spirit, to guide us into all truth. We want our light to shine before men that only You God, your name will be glorified in Christ Jesus. We thank You for Your love and mercy and we do honour your name.
In Jesus name we have prayed,
Amen."
Thank you for your time and I leave you to read Matthew 5. I look forward to hearing your wonderful experience with the Lord.
Shalom, peace
